Doxycycline Monohydrate

Experience (Jonathon Ly)

Doxycycline Monohydrate (DM) is an acne treatment that I am currently taking following my acne’s reappearance. After coming back from a trip from Vietnam my skin became covered with acne. Thus, my dermatologist prescribed me this antibiotic taking it two times a day. After I took the treatment I often would need to throw up and I felt extremely sick. I’ve also experienced itchy hands and face. This never happened to me when I was taking another acne treatment called Accutane.

What is DM?

DM is an antibiotic used to control/stop bacterial infections, this includes not only skin but eye inflections. Its effects are so great that it is used to prevent severe infections such as those relating to our lungs. This antibiotic creates proteins that will inhibit infections. It was created by Pfizer Inc. in New York in the 1960s, treating the on going inflection at the time malaria very effectively.

Positives

DM may come with many harmful side effects, but its pros may overshadow it. For example, DM is very affordable thus many individuals have access to the treatment that could cure their inflections or potentially save their lives. It is a good alternative medication for those who are allergic to other medications. DM can help and cure a wide range of inflections making it flexible and very useful.
